Bardock's personality is alot like your average Saiayan, he loves fighting and destruction, and is a cold blooded killer. He is also laid back and fearless, proof of his fearlessness is of him and his crew taking missions that baffle even Frieza's elite soldiers, and confronting Frieza alone. When the Kanassan's give him the ability of foresight, his life begins to change. Bardock used to think very little of him being a father, and he doesn't generally mention about his new born son Kakkarot. However, unlike your average Saiyan, most Saiyans care little for their comrades, Bardock deeply cares for the members of his team.

He becomes enraged after he finds his team ransacked on planet meat, particulary Tora, during their last conversation. Bardock showed his bravery when he saw the impending doom, instead of fleeing for his life, he chose to stay behind and fight to the death. In his final confrontation against Frieza, Bardock experianced a significant change of heart. Having faced panic and distress of his life and the existance of his race coming to a end, he loses all concern for exterminating civilizations for selfish gain and instead tries to avenge those he killed.

The Kanassan believes that over time will serve Bardock with vengeance for the crimes Saiyans commit in the name of Frieza. While in recovery after his platoon's return to Planet Vegeta, Bardock has a vision, he passes it as a delusion, in his vision, he sees Frieza destroying Planet Vegeta. During this time, the doctors say Bardock's power level was reaching to 10,000, and at this rate he could surpass King Vegeta.
