Two Flags under the Moon (Open)

Two flags waved, the flag of the moon and the flag of the akatsuki. One was on one hill, one was on the other. Akio smiled, he stared up at the moon, his headband having the konoha leaf with a cross through it, symbolizing his hatred of the leaf. It wasn't a wanted abandonment, the Jashin just didn't allow him to be in the leaf village. It was strange how things turned out, though. Unlike previous members, the Jashin for Akio didn't require a deadly sacrifice. Truth be told, Akio could have joined a village if he wanted too. Nobody had accepted him for who he was, though. People saw him as a monster, so that is what he became.

The moonlight shone on him as he smiled. "And then we see, through pure fire, the ashes brought your heart's desire. But when you looked, in the wake, the devil's child, defended your way. You stopped to watch and soon realized your mistake. You were the fool, you're soul they will take. You're heart was won and your soul was lost. Was it worth it?" Quoting from an ancient Jashin text made Akio feel better about what he did. The text described a man who sold his soul to save a friend, and how all was lost for the both of them. It was Akio's favorite story. It proved that giving your life for another's never worked out. It was the basis of most literature as well.

He noticed a figure in the distance but said nothing. The fog passed away from him. A small circle was underneath him, an unfinished Jashin symbol. He had a glass of wine with him, though it was hidden at his side. He took a small drink of it and enjoyed the strange moonlight.
